Hurricane Arthur

A busy few weeks have kept me away.

It's enjoyable to be busy -- but when I finally have a moment to unpack all that has been racing through my mind is enjoyable as well.

I experienced my first North Carolina "Hurricane" -- Hurricane Arthur. It was more like a rain storm instead of a hurricane which I was totally fine with. I've been through worse when I lived in Florida. However, it was nice to have an excuse not to get out of the house and cuddle up with the hubby.

Casey and I went to West Virginia a few weeks ago to see my brother call some ball in the Prospect League. I am beyond proud of him for following his dreams. West Virginia was gorgeous. We camped for two nights and it was a wonderful little getaway. I would love to visit when we have more time to explore the beautiful state. I got to see my mom as well which was very nice.  I never realized how much I am like her until I began to make my own home and started hearing her even though she wasn't around. I'm pretty lucky to have her.

I am beyond excited to start this next week. I have over ten sessions this week alone. OVER TEN!! I am so excited to get back in the swing of things. I have been working on some time lapse stuff. I'm learning so much about my style, what I want, and where I am going with my photography. I've been thinking about my senior show day in and day out. Time is flying by.

We took a day trip to New Bern, NC Friday night and I FELL IN LOVE with the town. We had planned just to go up and run some errands and have a nice dinner. We were walking around the shops downtown and luckily enough we happened to be there on the night of the local "Art Crawl". I was in my own little heaven. Local artist and art everywhere. It really inspired me, and just got me out of a rut. I spoke with an artist at the 'Bank of Art' and really took a lot away from the conversation. Casey was such a good sport roaming around with me. We came home with two wonderful pottery pieces. I can't wait to go back.
