Farmer(s)

A little over two years ago I met this very quiet, beautiful girl. I found out we were going to be sharing a room for eight months at Disney World. I never would've thought two years later I would be able to tell you that girl was in my wedding, and now is going to be marrying one of my husband's best friends.

Last year Casey's old roommate Joel Farmer didn't have a date set up for the Marine Corp Ball. Being the great friend that I am, I had to set him up. I decided my quiet roommate, Lindsey would be the perfect date. I knew that if anything came from it or didn't, at least the four of us would have a great time.

Lindsey and I fly into Jacksonville, NC for the ball, and you guessed it, the rest is history. These two will be getting married September 20, 2014. I get the awesome privilege of being their wedding photographer. Lindsey is from Denver, CO and she came for a visit, so we had an impromptu beach "engagement" session.  I am so happy for the both of them. They are two wonderful people and I can't wait to see their marriage blossom.

Hurricane Arthur

A busy few weeks have kept me away.

It's enjoyable to be busy -- but when I finally have a moment to unpack all that has been racing through my mind is enjoyable as well.

I experienced my first North Carolina "Hurricane" -- Hurricane Arthur. It was more like a rain storm instead of a hurricane which I was totally fine with. I've been through worse when I lived in Florida. However, it was nice to have an excuse not to get out of the house and cuddle up with the hubby.

Casey and I went to West Virginia a few weeks ago to see my brother call some ball in the Prospect League. I am beyond proud of him for following his dreams. West Virginia was gorgeous. We camped for two nights and it was a wonderful little getaway. I would love to visit when we have more time to explore the beautiful state. I got to see my mom as well which was very nice.  I never realized how much I am like her until I began to make my own home and started hearing her even though she wasn't around. I'm pretty lucky to have her.

I am beyond excited to start this next week. I have over ten sessions this week alone. OVER TEN!! I am so excited to get back in the swing of things. I have been working on some time lapse stuff. I'm learning so much about my style, what I want, and where I am going with my photography. I've been thinking about my senior show day in and day out. Time is flying by.

We took a day trip to New Bern, NC Friday night and I FELL IN LOVE with the town. We had planned just to go up and run some errands and have a nice dinner. We were walking around the shops downtown and luckily enough we happened to be there on the night of the local "Art Crawl". I was in my own little heaven. Local artist and art everywhere. It really inspired me, and just got me out of a rut. I spoke with an artist at the 'Bank of Art' and really took a lot away from the conversation. Casey was such a good sport roaming around with me. We came home with two wonderful pottery pieces. I can't wait to go back.

Settling In

I am new to this blog thing, so bare with me.

It's finally here. REALITY.

The wedding craziness, the honeymoon bliss. ALL GONE.

Now that I can finally take a breath I can sit back and enjoy all these little moments.

Lanie Kay did an AMAZING job capturing our special day and we have been looking at the images day in and day out. Can't thank her enough for the amazing job she did. We just ordered a ton of them to fill our albums and hang around the house. (Shutterfly is amazing for people on a budget)

So, marriage. Holy cow. ITS SO MUCH FUN!! You could not tell this girl that I would ever enjoy washing the dishes. Something strange happened. I became MRS. Whitson and I enjoy all of it. It's a blast living and "doing" life with your best friend. From cooking together, to snoring together. IT IS SO SO SO FUN!

Oh, & I turned 22! Had a wonderful Mexican dinner, and whip cream stuffed in my face/hair. We celebrated over the weekend with friends, and made wonderful memories.

North Carolina is SO hot! It is hard to get settled in, but I think we are finally getting a routine. This weekend we are visiting my brother in West Virginia. I am excited to see him, and take a road/camping trip with my husband.
